Progress Not Perfection

I’ve been trying to lose weight for a while now. I’m studying nutrition and experimenting with different dietary theories. Today, I woke up and my stomach was flat. I don’t really know why. In the last few days, along with my usual diet and increasing veggies, I’ve had the stuff I’m supposed to avoid.

Cheese. Dairy. Bread (gluten free). Rice. Carbs.

For a snack at bedtime last night, I chose celery and peanut butter instead of icecream, yogurt or cereal. I’d been wondering about food sensitivities preventing me from losing weight. Now I’m wondering if sugar is the culprit.

I went to the gym and noticed my workout top was loose. A girl I’d recently met noticed I’d lost some weight and said so. I appreciated the compliment.

When I got home, I tried them on just for kicks. My “small” postpartum shorts fit! Down a size! YES!

I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t feel like I know that I’m doing. But I’m trying. I’m figuring out what works. I’m making small changes my body seems to want.

Today’s progress makes me feel like I’m on the right track.
